English version

In short: 3amigos does not ask for an account, name or email, has no ads or analytics, and your engine data stays on your phone. The app only contacts our server to verify the Pro purchase, and the website uses no cookies.

Controller: Eric Serret Llopis, creator of 3amigos, info@tresamigos.es. This policy covers the 3amigos Android app (package com.productaivity.tresamigos), its licence server and the tresamigos.es website.

On your phone: everything the app reads from your vehicle (temperatures, engine speed, pressures, engine, SLABS or airbag faults) arrives over the USB cable or the Bluetooth adapter, is shown on screen and is never sent to any server. The app stores privately: your trips and trip computer data, your settings (car model, language, units, theme, temperature alarm, chosen adapter and, for an OBDLink CX, its name and Bluetooth address), CSV engine logs if you enable them, your licence status (Google Play purchase token, product and order number, plus the signed permit from our server) and a phone identifier for this app. Android backups are disabled; uninstalling deletes everything.

Sent to our server only to verify Pro access (when you buy, restore, redeem a promo code, move the purchase to another phone, and automatically at most once every seven days): the Google Play purchase token and product (premium_unlock or defender_unlock); a phone identifier derived with SHA-256 from Android's per-app ANDROID_ID (the ANDROID_ID itself is not sent; it stays the same if you reinstall and changes after a factory reset); and a Play Integrity token issued by Google, which our server sends to Google to get a verdict on whether the app is genuine and the phone passes Android integrity checks (or the error code if your phone cannot produce one). The server stores a SHA-256 hash of the purchase token (not the token), the Google Play order number, the purchase type, the phone identifiers using it with their last check date and verification status, and the dates of the first and last check and of the last phone change. Each check also leaves a technical log (short purchase and phone references, result and reason, Play Integrity verdict including the app's signing certificate fingerprint and the phone's integrity level, app version and sometimes the order number), and Google Cloud records technical request data such as the IP address and time; our code uses the IP only in memory for rate limiting.

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, location, number plate or VIN, or your engine data. No ads, analytics or automatic crash reports. The “Copy support data” and “share connection log” buttons only reach us if you choose to send them by email.

Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy (we see order data such as number, amount, date and country in Play Console, never your card); Play Integrity checks the app and phone; Google Cloud hosts our server (Cloud Run, europe-west1, Belgium) and database (Firestore, eur3, Europe) as our processor. Website and email: no cookies; our host Hostinger logs technical visit data (IP, page, browser, time) for operation and security; if you joined the (now closed) beta we keep your email, sign-up date and accepted policy version to run the test and announce the launch, and your email was added to the Google Play Console tester list; emails you send us are used only to reply.

Purposes and legal bases (GDPR): verifying your purchase and unlocking Pro, performance of a contract (Art. 6.1(b)); preventing fraud and unauthorised copies, limiting phones per purchase, detecting faults and abuse, and answering queries, legitimate interest (Art. 6.1(f)); the beta, consent (Art. 6.1(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. No advertising, profiling or automated decisions affecting you; we never sell data.

Retention: the server purchase record is kept while your purchase is active (we delete it on request; it is recreated at the next check); Google Cloud logs for Google Cloud's retention period (about 30 days by default); web server logs for Hostinger's period; beta emails until the beta ends and the app is published, or earlier on request; your emails while needed to resolve your query; on-phone data until you uninstall.

Recipients: Google Ireland Limited (Google Play, Play Integrity, and Google Cloud as processor) and Hostinger International Ltd. (website and email hosting, as processor). Google may process data outside the EEA where its terms allow, with the safeguards they provide (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses). We may disclose data to authorities when the law requires it.

Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, by writing to info@tresamigos.es. Because the server does not store your name or email, we will ask for your Google Play order number or the app's support data to find your record. You can complain to the Spanish data protection authority (aepd.es) or your local one.

Android permissions: internet (verify the purchase); USB (read the vehicle over the cable); Bluetooth scan and connect (find and connect the OBDLink CX; on Android 12+ requested without location access); location, only on Android 8–11 because Android requires it to scan for Bluetooth devices (the app never reads or stores your location); notifications and foreground service (temperature alarm, keep reading with the screen off); wake lock; full-screen and display over other apps (bring the temperature alarm to the front); vibration; change network state (Android 14 technical requirement). No access to contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files.

Children, security and changes: not aimed at children under 14. Server and website traffic is encrypted (HTTPS); the permit is signed with a key held only by the server in Google Cloud's secret store. We will publish any change here with its date and announce important changes in the app.
